Vitreoretinal surgery
Microsurgery of the retina and vitreous body – restoration and preservation of vision in cases of retinal detachment, macular holes and other complex pathologies of the posterior segment of the eye.
About the service
Vitreoretinal surgery is the most complex area of ophthalmic surgery: it treats diseases of the retina and vitreous body, including retinal detachment, macular holes, diabetic retinopathy, and other posterior segment pathologies. The goal of treatment is to prevent vision loss and restore as much vision as possible.
Process
Operations are performed on an outpatient basis, if necessary, using the «sleep» technique with the use of sedatives.
Surgeons use the OPMI Lumera 700 surgical microscope with a built-in intraoperative tomograph, allowing for delicate procedures with high precision. Following the procedure, the patient requires ongoing monitoring by an ophthalmologist.
